Municipal Leadership to Build Citywide Afterschool Systems
This report highlights a growing, nationwide trend in which city leaders are making a fundamental shift in their approach to afterschool programming for children and youth. Over the last decade, NLC has found that municipal officials have moved from funding or managing isolated programs toward the development of citywide systems that coordinate the efforts of schools, nonprofits, local governments and other funders and providers.
