NYSAN currently leads, partners on, or coordinates three statewide initiatives:

NYSAN takes pride in these three initiatives and we work hard to put them into action.
With our STEM initiative we believe in assisting programs so that they can achieve and deliver high quality service to the youth that participate in these programs.  Providing training and knowledge for professionals is essential in maintaining quality programming. Keeping outside contributors Involved and informed on the importance of STEM programming is important for the continuation of these programs.
NYSAN believes in the importance in researching and targeting the best practices for global learning, developing local and state wide ideas, policies and recommendations, building learning communities as well as developing local and statewide partnerships. In pursuing these endeavors, it will promote and decrease the cultural gap in which youth find between the borders of their own environment and what lies right outside of those borders both geographically and culturally.
The integrating Expanded Learning Opportunities with the P-20 Public Education System initiative promotes the idea that extended learning opportunities should be a topic of discussion in New York state and that these programs have the potential to turn around low performing schools by giving students extra time for academic nourishment.

Please direct inquiries about any of these initiatives to Alli Lidie at alidie@nysan.org.
